Don Sprague
Ceramics
Don Sprague’s interest and education in architecture have strongly influenced the direction he has taken in working with clay. His desire to explore form, both functionally and aesthetically, is derived from that background. Don’s work is included in many collections throughout the United States and Jamaica.
Throughout my career my primary focus has been form and surface development, and I have tried to incorporate glazes and glazing techniques that enhance those concerns. These concerns motivated my earliest involvement with clay and my effort to understand the complexities of the ceramic process over thirty years ago, and they remain at the heart of my work with clay today.
