My background is in boat building where I learned to conceive and create the flowing lines of seagoing vessels as well as the construction methods I still use in my art.
My current work is a series of vase shaped sculptures made from bent strips of metal.
The series was motivated by the shapes and contours found in glass and ceramic artworks both modern and archaic. I am always searching for new lines and structures to influence my work and I am inspired by my failures as much as my successes in emulating different configurations.
