Ceramicist Don Hoskisson builds vessels with hand carved intricate and repetitive embellishments. These embellishments are distinctly Don’s aesthetic that he has developed during his long standing career as a ceramic artist.
A few years ago someone asked me how long it takes to make my patterned pots. I don’t keep track of the time, but I did say I find the most time-consuming, slow, and tedious methods to make my clay pieces. I make things out of clay and find great pleasure in the process. It fulfills desires to explore my need, to see ideas become tactile by the use of clay. Time is not relevant to the results.
